Book Review: The Surrender Experiment

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about the chattering voice in my head, the one that has an opinion about everything and spends most of its waking hours moaning and complaining. The chattering voice has been a source of much frustration for me as I strive to live a life of peace and serenity. Michael A. Singer, the author of The Surrender Experiment, faced a similar struggle, and he took a drastic step in order to overcome it. The book is about his journey to free himself from the shackles of the voice in his head. I usually whiz through books, but this one was different. I stopped often, sometimes for days at a time. It wasn’t that the book was boring or difficult to read. It was because it was so powerful, and I had to give myself time to digest the many insights.
